Introduction

Game Theme Face-off is a new feature here on XSReviews that if it's well received I'll do my best to continue on a semi-regular basis. The basic idea is to pit different game themes/styles against each other to see if we can come out with an overall winner. Ultimately, it's mostly going to be down to your personal preference but it should be interesting to break down the pros and cons of different game themes, and really look at why they are enjoyable.

This time I'm looking at the numbers of enemies in first person shooters. Is it better to have lots of weak enemies, or several tougher ones? How does this effect the game play and level design? Let's take a look.
