Introduction
The Incredible Hulk movie released just over a week ago, was head and shoulders above the rather odd 2003 film of the same name. However, while the game on the Xbox and PS3 didn't receive the greatest scores, they did at least have something the PC version didn't, next gen graphics. The PC version's visuals, are simply shocking, so much so, that I complained on the Sega forums. Turns out I complained in such a lengthy manner I wrote over 1200 words on the topic; and I thought they would make an interesting basis for a short write up on the game.
The following is an adaption of my complaints on the Sega forums, so this does not follow the standard review format.
The Positives
The free roaming environment is great, and I love the way you move around the city. You can walk, run, sprint or use The Hulk's signiture mode of transport, his insanely large bounds. This also applies to rooftops, and to reach there you can climb up the side of almost any structure and the way this is handled feels very fluid; you can jump from building to building with no problems. However, apart from the "cool factor" of some of the fight moves, this is where the praise stops.
The So-So
Missions are "ok" most of the time, and conform to the usual "go here, kill them, pick up that, bring it back." Those kind of things I can live with as they become slightly more interesting because you're doing them as the Hulk. That's why most people will buy/bought this game, to do cool stuff with the hulk.
