The Ikea aliens strike
To lessen the likelihood that this case will be destroyed/cracked etc. during transit, the UFO cube is sent in flat pack style with thousands of screws, different sized acrylic panels and other bits and pieces.
The case is available in clear (as I have today) or UV reactive blue which would be interesting to see with the correct cold-cathode tubes installed.
When constructing the case, you are likely to cover it with loads of finger-prints which Sunbeam obviously find unacceptable, and hence provide you with some Michael Jackson cotton gloves, designed for the smaller handed gentleman.
Each sheet of plastic is covered with thin foam and taped into place to prevent breakage or scratching while it’s winging its way to your door. Sent with the case are two large 120mm blue LED fans which will do a good job of cooling the case when in use. Unfortunately, and rather strangely, there is no dust filters provided with these fans which means that your perfectly clear case could end up looking like a vacuum cleaner bag. We’ll test this later.
