Box & Bundle

AMA has decided on a slightly more unique marketing scheme avoiding the usual blue swirls and cold looking exterior. The front sees a large dragon peering through a window which gives a sneak peek of the enclosed radiator. The dragon also has its paws (do dragon’s even have paws, well they do now!) over a picture of the radiator; I’m not quite sure what the symbolism is supposed to be but hey.

Apologies for the tangent I’m going to go off on now but I will proceed regardless. First up the name reminded me of Aragorn (you know from LOTR, the ranger). However, I then thought of the book Eragon which seemed much more of a link due to it actually being about a dragon.

Ok enough about the pointless trivia; let’s get on with the review. The back sees the kit all set up with the blue LED fans whirring.

The side is much more factual and has a huge list of specifications on each individual part of the system accompanied by a small picture.

Inside the decorated box is more packaging: the main components are protected inside Styrofoam with a black box containing the tubing, coolant and yet another box with the accessories.

These have been divided into three different bags: LGA 775 socket parts, LGA 1366 socket parts and the connectors.

The bags for the different installation parts are roughly the same so let’s take a look at the 1366 socket parts:

  • PCI slot filler with holes for tubing
  • Thermal paste
  • Backplate
  • 4-pin cable extension
  • LGA 1366 water block clips

The PCI slot is only really required if you have a case without any grommet-filled water holes at the back (most new cases have this) or a case with room for internally mounting the radiator.
