Conclusion

The Gigabyte G-Power 2 is a more than competent cooler which managed to keep our AM2 machine well below dangerous temperatures. It can do it quietly, or you can crank up the power and give your core a little more breathing room. It’s a shame that there isn’t a rear PCI variable speed method which would allow you to change the speed easily, but I feel this cooler is designed for set-and-forget cooling.

I did a very quick search on how to get your hands on one of these coolers, but couldn’t find anything, which also includes the price. Providing that this cooler is relatively inexpensive, it would seem like a wise buy.

Unfortunately, this cooler isn't anything particularly special for the overclocker, especially when you flip it into low-power, 5v mode. As a result, it would seem to be more of a product designed for those with a small, quiet media PC, rather than the latest quad-core extreme overclocked beast. Thats where the size of the product becomes an issue, as you have to have at least a 200mm wide case, which puts SFF cases out the window.

The bottom line is, if you want a quiet cooler, that will also keep surrounding components cool, then the Gigabyte G-Power 2 Pro isn't a bad call.
