Conclusion

The Xigmatek HDT is a very impressive cooler to say the least. Not only does it perform well with some very nice temperatures, but it also gives out little noise.

However, there is certainly room for improvement with this product. Firstly, it would be wise to include a variable switch with the HSF allowing you to adjust the speed more easily and although the fan was quiet, it could be quieter. Changes like this, well see us heading towards something that really is ‘silent’. Rest assured though, the Xigmatek is still a quiet enough cooler and if you’re like me - listening to music all the time - you definitely wont hear it.

So is it worth it or not? Well, if I was just buying a cooler for overclocking or gaming, I definitely consider this one, as it’s a great performer. However, if I was looking to buy a cooler for a silent pc or HTPC, I probably wouldn’t as it would mean I’d have to fork out an extra £15 on another fan to make this cooler silent. So if you want a nice big cooler which is easy to add to and performs very well at reasonable noise levels, I would really consider this cooler as it’s a great product and one Xigmatek should be proud of.

Pros Cons
Direct Heat Pipe Stock Fan could be improved
Not to heavy No Speed settings
Anti Vibration isolators A little expensive
Easy to install
