Cost
The great thing about the huge performance leapfrog Intel have done with their Conroe range of products is the fact that prices have been slashed; and when I say slashed, I mean REALLY slashed. That's why I want to begin this review by telling you that this particular AM2 processor will now set you back a measly £100, from the right retailer. A few weeks ago this same processor would have cost around £250. With its current price it is one of the best "Bang for Buck" processors around.
Bits and Box
The CPU came in a rather small retail box along with its stock cooler. The CPU is visible through a small plastic window on the side of the packaging just so you can check that that those scheming retailer's are selling you more than just a box.
Once removed from the over zealous cardboard interior packaging there is still one line of defense before you can really have a look at your CPU, the foam backing. This is a standard feature, but clever nonetheless as it makes sure that your lovely, shiny, new processor arrives without any bent or broken pins.

The cooler I am using for this review is the stock AMD one which I am sure is not going to blow my socks off, but hopefully we should be able to get a little overclock with it.

Stock heat paste, pah. Out with the AS5 I feel.
Installation was obviously very easy and not a problem in any way, so on to the part that you came here for; the testing.
