Conclusion
The Samsung Writemaster is a very capable DVD drive that performs quietly when you need it to, and if it is too noisy when writing then you can simply change the write speed in Nero or use Magic Speed to alter the firmware. There is also the benefit of better airflow and an overall better looking case - without that ugly ribbon cable. All in all, a solid product.
| Pros | Cons |
| Quiet during gaming | A bit more expensive than IDE drives |
| Can alter firmware write speeds | Noisy during CD writing |
| Slim SATA cable aides airflow |

I'd like to thank our sponsors QuietPC for providing us with this optical drive.
