Installation

Installation of your chosen HDD into the Uranus isn't too bad. First off you need to remove the blue surround so that you can access the internal cage. This can prove a little problematic as if done incorrectly the metal edges rub together creating a horrendous screeching noise. Be careful.

After you're ears are destroyed, take your hard drive and place it in the available space inside the casing. Then slot it into place against the PCB, making sure that the SATA data transfer and SATA power connectors fit snuggly.

Using the supplied screws with the "cross heads", the HDD is then screwed firmly in place to make sure it doesn't move around during transit or detach from the SATA connectors during operation.

When all is in place, you slide the cover back on - carefully - and use the second set of screws to secure the shell in place. This can be a little difficult as although there are holes ready for these screws, the "screw holes" in the plastic inner casing have no thread, forcing you to make them yourself; with force. This wouldn't normally be a problem - just grab the biggest screwdriver you have - , but the screws provided have a strange hexagonal shape and you need to use the tiny, useless, included screwdriver that, due to it's smooth plastic handle, has almost no grip.

Once fully set up with the included stand - which has rubber mounts to sit between it and the enclosure - the Uranus looks pretty damn good.
