Installation

The instillation of a GPU cooler is one of the simplest around as you can easily remove the card from your machine, and then place it back in. This is in stark contrast to CPU coolers which require a lot more faffing around.

The first step to replacing a cooler for your graphics card is to remove the original and clean away the nasty old heatpaste. That way you are left with a clean or "naked" core. The 6600GT's NF43 is perfect for those fed up with the size zero, 65nm chips in the graphics game at the moment; take a look at this busty beauty. 110nm, oh yea.

After cleaning everything up, the next step is usually to attach the RAM sinks. These particular ones are fixed to the chips using adhesive heatpads.

The RAM sinks are made up of spaced aluminium fins with ridges in to maximise surface area.

Then it's on with the heatpaste, in this case AS5.

After that you need to make sure there is a protrusion attached to the cooler to hook the backing plate or backing screws on to. In the case of the Cyclops, you need to screw in several small bolts. Once screwed in though, make sure to tighten them with the included spanner as if they aren't quite in tight enough it will be impossible to line up the screws with the holes in the card.

Speaking of lining up the holes... what a pain that is. Although they do eventually fit, it takes a lot of fiddling around as you have to lower the card onto the screws completely straight otherwise one will go in, and the others won't.

Once you finally get everything lined up, it's on with the plastic spacers...

And finally the backing screws to hold it all together. Unfortunately these use a simple screwdriver; no badass little spanner required.
