Box 'n bundle

The Coolforce III comes in a red and black styled box with some tribal artwork swirling away in the background. The front also has a large picture of the cooler held within; so you get a pretty good idea of what you are getting.

The back has a list of features and another of specifications which is useful. However, something that isn't, is the "Application" or essentially, compatibility, which is stated simply as "nVIDIA Graphics Cards". Looking on their web site I found the real list of compatible cards and not only is the ATI support list much longer, but the nVidia one only goes up to the 7600GT!

Have a look at the feature list before reading the compatibility list below. "Mounts on virtually any high performance video-card on the market today", are they joking? This mounting list is horrendous. Most people who read this article will be wondering "will this fit on my 8800?", the answer to that would be no; and no to any "would this fit my 8 series " questions too.

What happens if you bought this cooler thinking your 8800 was a "nVidia Graphics Card" and was therefore compatible because that's what the box said? If you're going to advise on what card's the cooler can fit, do it right and print the above picture on the box.

Along with the CoolForce you get a manual with mounting instructions, metal backing plate with rubber "X", 4 mounting screws and a small tube of Spire branded heatpaste.
