Naked Card
With the cooler removed we can look at the card in it's naked state.

As mentioned at the start of this review, the 8800GT uses the G92 chip; well here it is in all its glory.

Under the RAM sink, surprise surprise, you have the RAM chips. These particular ones are made by Qimonda.

Installation
Having installed a couple of 8800GTs in the past, I was fairly sure that there would be no problems with installing this one. However, this is no ordinary 8800GT, it's got a dual slot cooler. Fortunately, this didn't cause any mounting issues with our board thought others might not fair so well. Anyone with packed PCI-e slots could find some will become covered up by the extended heatsink. If you are looking to buy this card, you need to take into account that the width of it is greater than that of other 8800GT models.
