The Spot Cool

Antec Spot Cool
Antec Spot Cool

The packaging isn’t going to blow you away, but it does show the product adequately. It’s a clamshell design package, held together with some metal rivets. Take your rage out on it, and you’ll have it open in no time.

Antec Spot Cool

The first thing that I noticed once I opened the package was the incredibly small instruction manual that is literally 3 lines long. Coupled with the three pictures, this is all you need to install the Spot Cool.

Antec Spot Cool

The Spot Cool fan has a 4” stalk that can be bent in any direction; much like a desk lamp. This allows you to direct air anywhere in your case. The fan itself can be redirected aswell allowing for even more cooling possibilities. The whole fan isn’t heavy, but holding the end that will be screwed onto the motherboard, it seems that the motherboard will have to support a lot of weight.

Antec Spot Cool

The fan has a built-in fan speed switch, which has three options; S, M, F. This allows you to decide on the correct air flow/noise you feel is necessary.

The Spot Cool plugs into a motherboard type 3-pin header. This could be an issue for people who don’t have any spare mobo headers. However, it does make sense to use this instead of a pass-thru molex, as the Spot Cool is designed to be used on the motherboard.
