Testing
For testing this cooler we took temperature readings of the CPU and HDD of our test laptop using Speedfan under idle and load conditions; with and without the cooler. The laptop was run at load for 30 minutes before taking the temperature and likewise in idle. To stress the CPU, there was a single instance of S&M run for maximum CPU usage.
The test laptop model is Fujitsu Siemens Amilo.
Also, since our temperature probe decided to go on the fritz half way through the review, I did a "hand" test on the battery, to see how it felt with and without the cooler running.
Results

As you can see, the cooler doesn't make a massive difference to this laptop's operating temperature, but it is noticeable. I also noticed during testing that the laptop's built in fan slowed down and was a bit quieter than normal.
In terms of the "hand" test, without the cooler on the battery felt fairly warm to the touch, and with it felt almost cold.
