While not technically installation, the paste application is actually harder than I thought it would be.

Compared to Arctic Silver 5, it’s definitely not as easy to apply if you use the spreading method as while it’s a similar viscosity, its drier reducing its ability to grip the IHS. It takes a few minutes longer to get the perfect finish which will not put off any buyers providing its performance warrants the additional setup time.

While we use this method every time we apply heatpaste, Noctua themselves recommend just popping a blob of paste in the middle and squashing the blob over the IHS with the cooler. This method is obviously much easier, and doesn't rely on the heatpastes ability to spread but we've used the 'spread' technique from the start and with other reviews so it makes sense to continue in this manner.

Once you’ve completed the application, you can slap your cooler on top and you are ready to go.
