QPAD XTR

The range of materials that have been used for making mouse pads is huge: metal, glass, cloth, plastic and more have all been tried and the general consensus is that there is no winner; it's all down to personal preference. I'm a cloth man myself, however today I'm reviewing QPAD’s latest mouse pad which constructed from hard plastic with a hard surface too. It promises top precision, speed and ...

When you’re looking at peripherals and in particular mice, the mouse pad often falls by the wayside – mouse pads are just freebies for companies to advertise on right? Wrong; the mouse surface is almost as important as the mouse itself and a good pad will be smooth, comfortable and allow the mouse to be very high precision – something that is essential for all gamers. So, spare a thought for the ...

Steelseries QCK Mass

After Whoopty apparently found the ‘best gaming mouse mat’ ever, in the Mionix Alioth 400, future mouse pads are going to have a lot to live up to. The first one giving it a shot, is another cloth surface that boasts a high thickness and smooth surface; and a top notch name to boot. The Steelseries QCK Mass, we all know their credentials, but have they delivered again? Let's see.

Mouse mats aren't considered to be the most exciting of review products, as their usually fairly mundane, and with the rather opinionated testing methods, it's not something every reviewer looks forward to. However, now and again one comes along that really catches your eye, like today. Powerdrive Computers have sent over a new mat from a company called Mionix. This is their Alioth 400. Let's see ...

In the world of mouse mats, no matter what the specifications given, it's all down to the materials used that determines the comfort levels, the sensitivity and the functionality of it. Once in a while a new material is used for mouse mats that promises to bring something new to the table. A manufacturer of conveyor belts, TechBelt has now come up with a mat of their own. Gaming peripherals are something that not many hardware enthusiasts spend much time on; as the title suggests, it's more of a gamer thing. However, many underestimate what effect a simple mouse or keyboard upgrade can have on their PC usage in terms of comfort and features. The peripheral overlooked most of al however, is the mouse mat. From it's humble beginnings as a poorly held-in-place piece ...

With so many different types of PC related products available, it's not surprising that many manufacturers go a little unnoticed in certain circles. That's why being a reviewer is interesting, as we get the latest and greatest from the big boys, and we also get to check out products from companies we've never heard of before. Gaming mice are all the rage, with the ability to crank up the accuracy to 4000DPI and beyond, it’s no surprise that hardened PC users are looking to grab one. However, the surface they glide over is as important as the mouse itself, not just in the realm of accurate tracking but friction and movement. Today I have a SteelSeries mouse pad that follows in their hybrid range, this time with a ...

Boogie Bug may not be the best known mouse mat production company, but they have a cool logo and I hear they made some good fans in the past; maybe they can make a good mat? Whether mouse mats improve gaming or not is a bit of a debate that I am sure won't be ending any time soon. However, most will agree that some mats can improve comfort while using the mouse, but what if the mat is so big that it covers not only the mousing area, but the keyboard area too? Today I am taking a look into a large cloth mat from Boogie Bug called the Aim BPad XL; let's see how it does.
