Conclusion
The Akasa SATA latch cable has advantages over a generic one in that it’s more durable and secure in its socket. It also looks more impressive than generic cables under UV light, so it’s an ideal addition for any modder wanting to spice up their cabling. Likewise, if you’re looking to route your cables around your case more easily to increase the airflow, the Akasa is good at that too. Unfortunately though, the performance from the Akasa wasn’t great and it failed to out perform the generic cable, so for those looking to squeeze every ounce of performance out of their PC, I can't recommend it.
At the end of the day, this UV cable from Akasa isn't a bad product. If you want a good looking cable that's long enough to route it pretty much anywhere, then this one is a pretty good choice. Performance nuts should steer clear however.
| Pros | Cons |
| UV reactive coating | Lower performance than standard SATA cable |
| "lock in" latch | Bit pricey for just a cable |
| Right angled connector |
