Installation
Installing the sword isn’t necessary, and to use the eXal1b0rty as a weapon requires no work. In fact, it’s tool-less although there aren’t any anti-vibration mounts meaning that any slicing and indeed dicing could result in your hand being adversely affected by blade wobble.
If you wish to use the backing mount, you’ll need to screw the tip clip and pegs into place, taking seconds to complete. Once done you’ll have the perfect place to put your sword when it’s not required for vanquishing.
Testing
As we were provided with not one, not two, but three eXal1b0rties we had the option to try them in a battle situation.
However, first up was the slicing test. After several boxes, polystyrene inserts and partition walls were stabbed, the true might of the sword was analysed.
In order to do so, a case made of 2mm steel was needed. This would be typical of a LANers case which this weapon is designed to banish. Often such gamers will use their gaming case as a last-resort shield against the onslaught the sword can unleash, as a result maximum piercing power is needed.
The sword easily sliced through the steel with no damage *cough* to the blade itself. You can probably *cough* notice that there is a little blood on the sword edge. During the testing, Whoopty decided that human flesh *splutter* was needed for a definitive test.
*cough, splutter, retch*
Unfortunately *cough* I was the target…
