Installation
Installing will be a headache for drive rail owners, or Lian Li PC-B20 case, as you’ll have to use the provided screws and pick up/find your screwdriver.
Now you have to unplug your 24pin ATX cable, attach the splitter on the end and plug it back into your motherboard. This splitter has a couple of cables which send power to the Ultra Bay. After plugging this into the bay, you’ll have to route the case power switch to the bay, and plug the Ultra’s output power switch cable to your motherboard.
Now its just the USB cable which you’ll either have to have protruding out the back of your case to a rear-mounted motherboard socket, or use the included converter which changes standard USB to motherboard header style. Seems odd that its this way round, as most will simply use the converter for the sake of neatness. Speaking of which, the ATX splitter isn’t the most elegant extra to your case and it’ll throw any cable management out the window.
Once this is done, power on your PC (using the remote or the case button) and chuck in the driver CD. After clicking next and accept a couple of times, and a restart, you’ll now have the bay installed.
The bay is compatible with Vista, although the box makes it unclear. The software itself (direct from the SoundGraph website) proudly proclaims that it works on Microsoft’s most recent OS.
