Conclusion
From the gaming test and in Windows usage, the Genius Ergo 555 Laser proved to be a very accurate mouse with the DPI set to 1600 – which is what I feel comfortable using. As well as this, its name ‘Ergo’ really rings true with it being extremely comfortable, hence ergonomic. Best of all, this mouse really is quite a big bang for buck product with it priced at just £25.
However, there are some slight issues with the mouse. Firstly, its Teflon feet, which must be the worst set of Teflon feet I’ve used, they’re quite frankly awful. Secondly, there’s a major issue with the software, it sometimes hangs and goes into a state where it becomes unresponsive – this is very annoying. Last of all, the buttons on the right hand side are a downright pain in the ass. They just seem unnecessary. Surely this mouse has enough buttons?
In conclusion, I’d say the Ergo 555 is a very feature packed mouse and when it comes down to it, it’s certainly worth the money. However, with the software as it is, it slightly lets the mouse down and when combined with the poor feet choice and the irritating right side mounted buttons, I can't give this product more than a 7.
