Summary
As you can see, although SorX was able to utilise the board more than I, both sentences are complete gibberish compared to the original. Both of us, myself especially, found it incredibly difficult to use the Keysonic and as you can see even some very simple words were made a complete hash of when typing on it. During the writing of the sentence, whole sections of words simply wern't picked up by the ACK unless you hit the keys very hard - and even then nothing was guaranteed. Unfortunately on typing ability, the ACK gets a massive thumbs down. It might have it's uses, but typing is not one of them.
NB. Nanopoint have told me that they believe this issue is short lived and you will get used to it over time. This is all wel and good but I personally don't want to have to relearn how to type simply to use my new wireless keyboard.
Not only was typing on this thing horrendous, the batteries were flat within 10 minutes of powering it up for the first time, forcing me to grab some Duracell to save the day.
Spillage Testing
Since the ACK is designed to take away the headache involved with spilling something on your keyboard, we decided to do a spillage test, so we poured tea on it; milk and two if you must know. While the board was a bit sticky, a simple wipe down and it was back in perfect condition. This makes this design perfect for sterilised environments like hospitals.
At this point I was about to give it a big gold star for its performance, when I remembered that the box had said the Keysonic was waterproof. I began to wonder, what would happen if you say, had a bucket of weak tea, and dropped the keyboard in? If you were thinking that too, don't worry we can answer that query for you...
Unfortunately, the answer is that the Keysonic ACK-126 RF no longer works. Plenty of water leaked into the battery housing and into the main keyboard through this area. This keyboard is most definitely not waterproof.
Cost
The Keysonic ACK-126 RF weighs in at £20 which seems an awful lot for a keyboard that is so difficult to type on.
