Box and Bundle

The box for the UCP 1100w is matt black and other than a large, ominous, central image in the centre, the front is bare except a small piece of text in the bottom left.

The rear of the box is a large specification table, a few feature pictures and a list on the right. In the bottom right hand corner are the certification logos and a small yellow sticker denoting which model you have. As if the "1100w" text on the front wasn't enough.

Along with the PSU itself, you get a manual and a small air tight bag containing a few cable ties You also receive a power chord, but interestingly it's got the cuboid pins aligned hoirzontall, meaning only certain power cables can be used with this PSU. If you lose this one, you'll have to get another direct from Coolermaster. This might be some kind of special power cable, but it doesn't seem it.

Update: Having spoken to Ray at BeQuiet, he let me in on the reason that some PSU makers do this. The horizontal pins are used due to it being a nordic requirement as the belief is that it makes the unit more stable. It's also a common feature on UPS units. I guess we'll find out if the stability belief is true when it comes to testing.
