OCZ GameXStream Close up
The first thing you notice about this PSU is it's size. It is tiny; the kind of size you'd expect a 400w unit to be. It has a matt black exterior with a very slight reflection to it that is only visible when close up.
The fan on this PSU is a large 120mm jobby, with a silver fan grill and a centralized OCZ logo.
At the back is another feature that aids cooling; a grill. There are several types of grill used on Power Supplies with some more effective than others. OCZ have opted for the honeycomb grill which tends to be the most effective. To find out why, check out our glossary entry here.
Also on the back of the GameXStream is the power switch. No LEDs here; nothing fancy.
At the front are a couple of vents to allow a bit more airflow to the warmer parts of the PSU.
It's also where the cable's originate from. All of which are sleeved in a lovely black braid which not only makes the cables look better, but it also makes cable management easier.
Speaking of cables, the GameXStream comes with the usual 20+4pin connector.
Theres also 4 6pin PCI-E connectors and a 4+4 CPU connector.
Oh, and it has some lovely quick release molex cables too.
Unfortunately though, unlike the Corsair HX620w we reviewed recently, none of the cables are modular.
