Silver Power 600w Close Up

The Silver Power has a bullet gray exterior that looks very clean and professional.

It's also mildly reflective:

Atop the Silver Power is a large 120mm, covered in a silver fan grill with the SP logo and name in its center.

To also aid in cooling the PSU Tagan have added a grill to the back, although the design they chose is odd. A honeycomb grill would have been more effective, to find out why, check out our glossary article here.

The back also features an LED power button, which should look a bit flashy when on and means you won't be scrabbling trying to find it in the dark.

At the "front" end, there are some extra vents to allow a bit of extra air flow over critical components.

This is also where the cable emanate from. They are not only braided but wrapped in a rubber sheath of sorts at their source to aid cable management and make sure the cables aren't damaged.

All the cables are sheathed in the black and yellow striped braid which makes them look fantastic.

This PSU has the common 20+4 pin connector with the extra 4 pins in a florescent yellow colour which seems like an odd choice to have made when designing the connector. Why not make it black like the rest of it?

There's also an 8pin for those motherboards that require it.

And of course it has the dual 6pins for those with 8800s or 2900s. However there are only two so without molex adapters (supplied with most 8800s) you wouldn't be able to run an SLI or Xfire setup with this unit.

However the Silver Power does have a favourite of ours, quick release molex connectors which allow for much easier removal or the 4pins from tricky HDDs or Optical drives.

Installation

The PSU is of standard size so installation was nice and simple and it looks pretty good when installed too.
