The One Laptop One Child has signed up with Amazon to continue with their G1G1 (give one get one) scheme where US buyers can spend $200 on 2 $100 laptops, receiving one and the other one being sent to families in Africa. The scheme was originally designed to allow developing nations to give their people access to computers at a low cost.

Sony have released a new memory stick/flash dive/pen drive and have called it something hella catchy, "Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo HX." This one offer read speeds of 20MB/s and 15MB/s write speeds. Oddly this is somehwhat slower than the fastest SD cards out there which are hitting 30MB/s read and write speeds.

Penumbra game writer has said in an interview with Edge, "Rampant piracy is no longer the catch-all excuse it's often employed as." After hearing the Crysis developer Cervat Yerli comment that copied versions of Crysis are in the ratio of 15:1 in comparison to legitimate retail versions, Jubert made a point of saying that through research, the total is probably something along the lines of 5:1.

The boys at Fudzilla have managed to get some pictures of the reference board of nVidia's upcoming high def. mobile platform, Tegra. It's main features are a low power chip to increase battery life by huge amounts, and allows the unit to play 1080p HDMI for up to 10 hours, which is very impressive indeed considering the device will be only a tiny bit bigger than an iPhone.

Activision have announced that the release date for Call of Duty: World at War will be November 11th. This title has been developed by Treyarch in the usual hand-over style of the COD games, and will be released across all popular platforms: PC, Xbox 360, Wii and PS3.It's also been announced that those who pre-order the title will be allowed to enter the multiplayer beta at some point in October.

Microsoft launched their latest Windows Vista advertising campaign last night during the NFL opening game of the season. It featured Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Gates throwing some odd banter back and forth in a discount show store, before Bill shakes his ass at Jerry to let him know Vista is awesome?

Shacknews have managed to get a new look at the upcoming zombie co-op shooter from Valve, Left 4 Dead; entitled so, because it's 4 co-op humans, vs. as a zombie horde. What on the surface may seem like Counterstrike with Zombies, is actually a complicated co-op, shooter/survival game that involves high levels of teamwork, but also self preservation.
