Continuing what appears to be "PSU Week" here at XSReviews, we have the Silver Power SP-SS500, a 500w PSU. It's one of the more low output ones that we've reviewed recently, but that shouldn't stop it from taking up the challenge of our test rig. Let's see how it holds up to some more expensive, and higher wattage units.

A quantum encryption system has been developed by Charles Bennett of IBM and Gilles Brassard of Montreal University and they have described it as an unbreakable encryption method. They base this quite common claim about encryption, based on what's termed the fact that "All quantum security schemes are based on the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle, on the fact that you cannot measure quantum information without disturbing it."

The idea being, that were someone to attempt to "eavesdrop" on a connection encrypted by this system, it would be altered, and therefore could shut down.

Blizzards highly anticipated sequel to one of their most popular games of all time, Diablo 3, will be available in a fully playable format at Blizzcon starting tomorrow. Alongside this game are other upcoming titles listed as "open gaming" including Starcraft 2 and World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King.

In the upcoming game in the Need for Speed series, "Undercover" there will be a new game mode entitled, Cops and Robbers. This will involve one team racing to pick up a cash deposit, and take it to the safe house as quickly as possible, while the other team will be in their designated police cruisers, doing their utmost to bring them to a stop by any means necessary.

Intel have set the pricing for their Atom based 945 chipsets, including northbridge and southbridge, for a mere $20. However, this is of course for motherboard manufacturers only, and if you buy several thousand at once. Don't expect to wander into PCWorld and pick up a chipset die.

Whilst in a game, aside from the ability to accurately shoot your opponent in the face, the ability to move is fairly high on your list of things to do. Most people will have a keyboard to do this with the usual WASD configuration of walking about. However many companies are now bringing out little innovations to make this easier: Circular keyboards with all the buttons you need for gaming on, highlighting the commonly used buttons on your keyboard with back lighting or are combining the two and adding a little gaming keyboard to the side of our normal one. The last of these options is what Genius have done with there latest professional keyboard, the Luxemate 525 Star Cruiser. But with a compromise between a normal keyboard and a gaming one can it be any good?

Microsoft have teamed up with Samsung to produce a Blu-Ray drive for their gaming platform, the Xbox 360. This has been a long time coming, as for a long time Msoft had said they wouldn't be making one in the advent of their external HD-DVD drive becoming defunct after the DVD industry said they would use Blu-Ray as the standard format.

Fudzilla have been scratching their heads over x58 pricing issues. The chips themselves cost $25 a pop, which is far cheaper than x48 chips. However, the motherboards with an x58 chip cost a lot more, and it seems this is down to the PCB design which is 8 layers as apposed to the usual 6 layers. This equates to a 25% increase in cost, on the PCB alone.
