Epic Games have released a shot of the Special Edition, or hotly anticipated upcoming title, Gears of War 2. The SE pack will feature some concept art and extra back story literature, along with the standard "making-of" DVD and some commentary on the production process.

For those of you that agreed with me on the "bring back Starship Troopers" of my "5 games that need sequels" article, you're in for a treat. 3 new screenshots have been released for the upcoming, edgy shooter, Aliens: Colonial Marines. They show some interesting choices for a shooter, as they feature a hand held radar like the film, and no evidence of a head up display at all.

Taking a leaf out of the Bioshock route, Biohazard have re-released their "Rapture" desktop platform, this time featuring a phase change setup not too dissimilar to the one they demo'd back in January.

The Japanese have done it again, that's right, they've built another funky robot. This one though, doesn't dance like a, erm, gorilla? or serve you tea, this one in fact, goes shopping for you.

One of the main complaints of heavy PC users compared to console gamers, is lack of comfort over long periods. While traditionally, console gamers will be sitting on one of their homes' most expensive pieces of furniture, desk chairs are often worth very little in comparison, and support the user even less.

ATI have managed to speed up the production process of their RV710 ans 730 chips and are planning to release the cards based on these chipsets, nearly 2 months early. nVidia had planned to use the 9500GT to go up against the 710, though no word exists on the performance difference between these cards.

The guys at Shacknews managed to get their hands on a playable level from Dead Space including a large portion of a boss fight. Although the guy playing the level manages to run out of ammo towards the end of the video, he was told that he could use his telekenisis powers to throw objects.

Nvidia has announced that they plan to release their budget 9500GT graphics card on the 29th of July. It should be a little bit faster than an 8600GT, and will come in flavours with 256MB or 512MB of memory.

Intel have announced price cuts on a wide range of CPUs with some price tags falling by up to 31%. Some of the biggest reductions were to the E8500, E7200 and Q6600 chips.
