Zotac 9500GT Although ATI seem to have taken the throne for high performance graphics cards, there’s still a vast demand for mid-range cards. This demand is in favour of nVidia, who offer some great mid-rangers for low prices. One card which comes with a low price tag and fairly good specs is the 9500GT. Today we have Zotac’s version of this card, let’s give it a whirl.

Hardware round-up: 06/10/08 Plenty of GPU reviews today, though it's a bit biased in the favour of ATI, not a single nVidia card is present. Even the lone motherboard review is based on an AMD chipset. Jeez.

General | Kingson and Intel team up
Monday, October 6th 11:52 GMT (53 views)
Kingson and Intel team up Kingston and Intel have shaken hands and decided to work together to market their SSDs. The SSDs from Intel have been rated at read speeds of 240MB per second and write speeds of up to 170MB per second.

The SSD market is still maturing, but with many standard HDDs only kicking out around 50MB per second read speeds, perhaps new SSDs like these could start to turn the tide.

Industry | nVidia Cuts Partners Revealed
Monday, October 6th 11:38 GMT (46 views)
nVidia Cuts Partners Revealed Two names already announced were Foxconn and Club3D. However, Fudzilla have managed to find out who the rest will be: ECS, Biostar and Albatron.

The last 3 on that list are more motherboard manufacturers than GPU ones, but that hasn't stopped them feeling a bit sore at the snub. However, nVidia claims this was necessary in order to protect the top 3rd party GPU sellers during the "tough times" currently.

Hardware | High DIMM Voltage could Damage Nehalem
Monday, October 6th 11:24 GMT (36 views)
High DIMM Voltage could Damage Nehalem Information has come out, that raising the memory voltage over 1.65v can actually damage the Nehalem CPU on an x58 platform. This is of course, slightly above the standard 1.5v that DDR3 memory runs out. However, due to Intel CPUs overclocking by relatively large amounts over the last few years, memory has been scaled accordingly with plenty of OC RAM kits being available, with up to 2.1v. This then presents a problem for the overclocking crowd, will Nehalem be overclockable.

XSpice Croon 750w There are certain products in the PC hardware world that are completely dominated by big brand names like graphics cards and of course, CPUs. On the other hand, there are others that are more open and you often see little known companies popping up. One of these was kind enough to send me one of their power supplies was XSpice. The one they sent through is the Croon, and it's got a large 750w capacity. Let's see how it holds up.
